Julie Huellmantel, Early Intervention Specialist with Grosse Pointe Public Schools

Julie is a lifelong Grosse Pointe resident (Richard, Brownell, GP South). She is married to Mike and mother of 4 adult children and grandmother to a four and two year old!

Julie will be speaking to us about her vocation as an Early Intervention Specialist working with infants and toddlers with developmental delays and their families to support optimal development through everyday routines and activities.  The Grosse Pointe Early On program services infants and toddlers in Grosse Pointe, Harper Woods, Hamtramck and Highland Park.  Julie has worked in the Early Childhood department with the Grosse Pointe Schools since January of 1995 and prior to that she taught at-risk four-year-olds for the Detroit Public Schools.

She has a Bachelor’s of Science from Michigan State University in Child Development and Teaching, a Masters of Education in Special Education from Wayne State University and has earned her Infant Mental Health Endorsement from The Michigan Association of Infant Mental Health.  She is currently working on a Master Coach certificate through Early On Training and Technical Assistance.
