ImageEd Nakfoor, center, a Birmingham-based retail public relations and branding consultant working with the City of Grosse Pointe Downtown Development Authority to help market The Village, discussed his work at the Aug. 5 luncheon meeting of Grosse Pointe Rotary.
 
His clients have included such organizations as upscale shopping mall developers, local and regional retailers, independently-owned luxury boutiques and downtown/civic merchant associations including the Birmingham Principal Shopping District.  Prior to establishing his consultancy in 2000 he worked at several Detroit-based public relations and advertising agencies. Further, Edward is a frequent media source for retail- and branding-related news stories.  He is also an adjunct copywriting instructor in the Advertising Department at Detroit’s College for Creative Studies. Edward is a graduate of the University of Detroit and holds a Master of Arts degree from Wayne State University.  He was born in Grosse Pointe, was raised on the east side of Detroit and in Troy, and resides and works in Birmingham. With Ed at the meeting were President Paul Rentenbach and Yolanda Turner.
