John Minnis, center, was named Rotarian of the Year by Rotary of Grosse Pointe recently.  Minnis was recognized for his efforts as Communications Committee chairman, winning Rotary District 6400's coveted Frank Devlyn Exemplary Public Image Award.

It was the first time the Grosse Pointe club had ever won the award and the first time any club in the District has achieved a perfect score. The award application was aided by the many Rotary articles, photos and notices published throughout the year in the Grosse Pointe News, on the club's website a nd facebook page. Presenting the trophy at the July 1 regular luncheon meeting were immediate Past President Diane Strickler, who accepted the award at the annual district conference in June, and current President Paul Rentenbach.
