Louise, of Grosse Pointe Farms, has spent more than 900 hour as a Beaumont volunteer since February 2010. Her skills from years of working as an office manager have served her well in keeping the front desk running smoothly and organized. Louise treats each and every visitor with a smile and a warm greeting.

She also helps in assisting other volunteers and new student volunteers in the lobby with escorting and discharging patients. The student volunteers look up to Louise and turn to her with questions or concerns. She has formed wonderful strong relationships with the staff at the hospital along with her fellow volunteers. This helps to build a great team spirit.

According to Betsy Schulte, the director of volunteer services for Beaumont Hospital, Grosse Pointe, Louise always keeps the director of volunteers for Beaumont up to date on suggestions that could help improve patient customer service. She is always looking for ways to make improvements that help make things better for the patients.  She cares deeply about her volunteer role, and it shows!

Betsy nominated Louise for the award.

“I am always in AWE of those who struggle to make one small difference after another, day after day," says Betsy. "Louise makes a difference each and every day, and we are grateful for her kind and generous spirit.  This is what makes our hospital stand out from the rest, people like Louise!”
