This past Wednesday we were joined by Tom Gage, a former Detroit News sports journalist. Tom worked as the Detroit News’s Tigers beat writer for 36 years, from 1979 until he retired in 2015. Following his retirement in 2016 , Tom was inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in Detroit.
Tom’s new book published in June 2024, The Enchanted Season, dives into the Tiger’s 1984 World Series Win. At the time Tom was covering the team, giving him the privilege of getting a behind the scene look into the team’s locker room and off season training.
