On July 15th, Danielle Daguio delivered an informational speech about the non-profit organization, Keep Growing Detroit.
Danielle Daguio, a graduate of Fordham University, currently serves as the Engagement Manager for the non-profit organization Keep Growing Detroit. During her presentation, she shared the organization's mission of helping preserve and grow fresh fruits and vegetables, while strengthening neighborhoods through the power of local food. She also emphasized the importance of providing people with the knowledge, resources, and confidence to grow their own resources as well.
Keep Growing Detroit is dedicated to supporting communities by increasing access to fresh locally grown food. The organization helps neighborhood residents learn how to grow and preserve fresh produce, while also building relationships within their communities. Though gardening, education, and support, Keep Growing Detroit promotes healthier lifestyles, stronger connections, and a better knowledge of food growth. By providing the tools, education, and support needed to grow fresh produce, the organization encourages individuals to make a positive impact and change within their neighborhoods.
We thank Danielle Daguio for taking the time to educate the group about the importance of community relationships, sustainable food systems, and the value of growing fresh food.
