Several times a week The Second Mile Center of Detroit delivers food, clothing, and goods to the community.  Our group collects non-perishable food and other goods to help this cause.  A list of needs will be provided before the event.

Life Remodeled 6 Day Project
Sep. 30, 2026 11:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

During our work day, we will be removing blight from the front yards of vacant properties (clearing debris and cutting down overgrown grass, weeds and brush) as well as renovating and beautifying the newly opened Anchor Detroit Community Center.

All tools are provided, and volunteers will receive a t-shirt to wear on their volunteer day. Volunteers should bring their own work gloves and protective eyewear/sunglasses as well as wear pants and closed-toed shoes. All volunteers must be at least 14-years-old, and volunteers under 18-years-old must be accompanied by adults.

DG Kim Spirou

District Governor Official Visit

Kim Spirou has a passion for making an impact that matters. She has been involved in Rotary for over 30 years and is currently a member of the recently chartered Rotary Club of Tecumseh Lakeshore. Kim has participated in and led numerous international Rotary team trips in central America and Ghana where she has initiated projects in all of Rotary’s seven areas of focus.

Kim has served as an assistant governor, as a district trainer and she has served as club president three times. An ardent supporter of The Rotary Foundation Kim is a Paul Harris Fellow, Benefactor, Bequest Society member and a Major Donor.

Moross Greenway-Fall Clean Up

If you enjoy being outside and want to help our community look its best, join us for some light gardening/weeding and litter cleanup at the Moross Greenway.  Bring gardening gloves and your favorite weeding device.  Just stay as long as you can.  We hope to see you there!
